Puzzles and Patterns focuses on math problems and logical thinking, with a puppet named Jup Jup who constantly plays tricks. Hosted by Kathleen de Leon Jones from Series 1-8, then by Sun Pezzimenti from Series 9-10, by Fely Irvine from Series 11-13, and by Dayen Zheng from Hi-5 House Series 1-3, and Shay Clifford from Hi-5 2017 series. Intro Description[]
Series 1[]
Hi-5 hands appear one by one on a black and white checkerboard background and Jup Jup appears saying "Hi, I'm Jup Jup!", forming the word "Hi-5". Afterwards, the black and white checkerboard background fades to plain white and the intro slides to the left to start the segment.
Series 2-4[]
Cupboard doors open to reveal a pineapple, a vase, a cactus and Jup Jup saying "Hi, I'm Jup Jup!" then giggling. Afterwards, the intro slides to the left to start the segment.
Series 5-7 and Hi-5 USA Series 1-2[]
Altered version of Hi-5 Australia Series 2-4 intro, now with the cupboard doors in many colour, and at the end, a cupboard door opens to start the segment. And what's more, when Jup Jup appears, his legs wiggle.
Series 8-10[]
Jup Jup throws puzzle pieces, forming a puzzle of himself, then he takes it apart to start the segment. The music is sped-up here and different.
Series 11-13[]
Fely builds a block tower while Jup Jup does the rest.
Hi-5 House[]
Dayen forms a puzzle while Jup Jup helps her.
Series 17[]
Shay performs a magic trick while Jup Jup takes the balls away.
Hi-5 UK[]
Cat forms a puzzle of the Hi-5 logo, then Jup Jup ruins it. and then at the end, Cat fixes it.
Hi-5 Philippines[]
Alex replaces a moon with a sun, thus transitioning from night to day. While this happens, Jup Jup hides behind the moon but goes out of sight when Alex places the sun.
Hi-5 Indonesia[]
Cindya forms a puzzle while Jup Jup helps her.
