Making Music Segment

Making Music focuses on musicality for kids to discover and find through pitch, rhythm, beat, and melody, using pianos, guitars, bells, or any other instruments for aid.

It is hosted by Tim Harding from Series 1-9, followed by Stevie Nicholson from Series 10, Tim Maddren from Series 11-13, Ainsley Melham from Hi-5 House Series 1-3, and Joe Kalou from Series 17. In other versions, it is hosted by Curtis Cregan from the US series, Chris Edgerley from the UK series, Adán Allende from Hi-5 Fiesta (Series 1), followed by Rodri Llamas from Hi-5 Fiesta (Series 2), Gerard Pagunsan from the Philippines series and Alvin Lapian from Hi-5 Indonesia.

Intro Description[]

Series 1-4[]

Pink hands start playing the drum, then one pink hand plays the trumpet valves, piano keys and strumming the guitar. The light blue guitar strings transition to start the segment.

Series 5-7 and Hi-5 USA[]

Purple hands start playing the drum, then one purple hand plays the trumpet valves, piano keys and strumming the guitar. The light blue guitar strings transition to start the segment. (The audio is recycled from Hi-5 Australia Series 1-4, but the graphics have been redone.)

Series 8-10[]

Red hands start playing the drum, then red pink hand plays the trumpet valves, piano keys and strumming the guitar. Colourful guitar strings transition to start the segment.

Series 11-13[]

Tim plays music as a one-man band, and floating colourful balls zoom out to start the segment.

Hi-5 House[]

Ainsley plays an electric guitar on a big colourful keyboard piano, and a pink treble clef note moves toward the screen to start the segment.

Series 17[]

Joe plays an electric guitar at the beach and throws his guitar pick towards the screen to start the segment.

Hi-5 UK[]

Chris plays a trumpet, a piano, and conga drums.

Hi-5 Philippines[]

Gerard drives a jeepney and makes music with the horn.

Hi-5 Indonesia[]

Alvin plays an electric guitar on a big keyboard piano.
